Quote: Got this 43 steel cent along with another cent. Had to get it under a bright light just to make out the date. I also noticed it had rust on it. Very nice!

I was trying to print something this afternoon and discovered I needed a new cartridge, so I went to my nearest large store. Walking past the Coinstar machine, I noticed something in the reject slot, and pulled out this haul - my best score for ages! There was a 1977D LMC and 56 pence in spendable British money, but the best coin - an addition to my collection - was a 2015 Swiss half-franc! I've no idea why the Coinstar machine rejected the British coins: they weren't sticky or damaged in any way! Still, I'm not grumbling about getting free money!

Well this is another one that really surprised me. Walked by machine and saw this pile of change in reject tray had to reach in a few times. How did all of those quarters find their way into reject tray IDK. Happy to get a silver dime out of it. Go to next machine 2 coins 1 silver dime.

cabowabo,
Nice finds. Two silvers from two different machines is a pretty good score.

I've been checking coinstar machines at my grocery store for a while and never found a reject. Last week I noticed a few coins and found a silver rosie and some canadian coins. 2 days later at the same machine, I notice a whole pile of coins in the reject tray. I stuck my hand in and retrieved two handfulls of standard change all coated in grease and stuck together. I stuck them all in a produce bag and then had to find my way to the restroom to clean my hands before I could check out.

Jadey, congratulations on the Silver Roosevelt dime! Although, that's gross about the gunked up and sticky coins.
