Okay this is quite the adventure. Waited for a man to finish putting his coins in the coinstar machine. I could hear a few dropping into the reject tray. He finishes I go over and see quite a few coins in there. I start reaching in and filling my pockets. I happen to bring my own bag with me of accumulated coin star finds. I am starting to feel a little paranoid that everyone is watching me. Now I figure let me put a few of my coins in the machine to get it going so me pulling all these coins from the tray isn't so obvious. I don,t know how many times (15-20) I reached in there but it seemed like the coins were all the way up the chute. I am stuffing my pockets putting a few coins in the machine (mostly foreign I know they are coming right back to me) coins are dropping on the floor. It must have been quite the sight. Well I wound up with 114 Quarters, 91 Dimes, 45 Nickels and 163 Pennise I think that totals $41.99. Can someone tell me why anyone would leave all that behind. Also the foreign coins in pic are the ones I was dropping in. I think 99% of the coins that I pulled out were U.S. Amost forgot to mention the bonus were the silver quarter and dime.

That is amazing! I am not sure I would have pulled it off before the watchers got the better of me.

jbuck I felt like there were a thousand eyeballs on me. I was putting everything in one pocket of my jacket walked out lopsided. That,s why I started putting some of my own change in. I just couldn't walk away. I was going as fast as possible but it seemed like I was there forever. It was funny.

Wow, cabowabo... that's a crazy one. Congrats!

As for me, I was on my way home from voting just a bit ago today. Since a store with a Coinstar is on the way, I decided to stop in on the way back home... A lone coin was sitting in the reject bin - a denomination of coin I had NEVER seen in my 4 years or so of Coinstar checking...

So yes, I *finally* have my first coinstar silver half!
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

For the record, this wasn't a Coinstar find. In fact to this day I've yet to retrieve any silver from a Coinstar or even a bank box (minus a War Nickel), but last night, I was taking a peek at my change, and lo and behold.

1964-D Roosevelt dime, out of change, completely unexpected silver score. Happy hunting!
