I've been eyeing my other bank's coin counter for awhile, and I finally found gold! ...well, not really, but it was a shiny 2011 Canadian penny, the last year they were issued for circulation.

Not really a coinstar find but my 30 cents change from the automatic change dispenser at the circle k today consisted of a quarter and a 1978 Czechoslovakia 50 haleru.

Question, why don't people take their change to the bank? It sounds like coin star takes a hefty percentage.
I save my change for six months to a year, about 20 pounds. Then put it in a bank supplied plastic bag, take it to the branch (BoA), and the deposit shows up in my account about a week later. Easy, no charge.

Not sure if this counts but I was using the self checkout at a local quikchek a couple weeks ago. In my return change was a 1940s Mercury dime. 1st silver ever from a self checkout for me. |
