Coinstar Finds! (Including Bank Counters And Other Machines)

I normally don't even look down at the reject bin. I stand by the machine and normally do something like check out my store receipt, while casually lower my other hand into the bin for a quick feel. I too don't want anybody else to invade my lair.

**PS: When I used to work, I often laid on the floor to check underneath the machine. I normally had a broom with me to make the customers think I was just doing normal cleaning**

Found twenty-four cents in the reject tray at the grocery store awhile ago... When I saw the dimes I got excited hoping for a couple of Rosey's but alas, they were modern dimes... But hey, I left with my bill twenty-four cents cheaper...

I found $2.84 face value today plus the Mexican dollar. Since I last posted Dec 30, 2015, I have found $2.11 in common change plus this stuff: (so $3.41 in total + a foreign coin)



Normally I wouldn't think a dollar coin was all that special, but in a Coinstar machine? Who the heck throws away a buck?

After years of not finding a silver quarter in the wild, my wife and I have each found one about six months apart. I wonder if this one had been disguising itself as a worn out 1965. :)

I'll put $3.41 into my Salvation Army jar. That, plus what was already in the jar, makes my contribution for 2016 more than 2015 with about 10 months to go.

Now you've just made me want to say this again: ALWAYS HAVE CHANGE ON YOU. I make sure to have $10 in bills and almost a dollar in change on me at all times in case stuff like this happens, and if you're polite, maybe they'll give you the rejects for free like that one woman did when I explained that I collected odd looking coins.
