Found 41 cents in two trips, nothing special except that it's 41 cents more than I had. Also, the coin star I found has trouble doing gift cards so I'm dumping my halves there and getting cash with a fee or having to do gift cards... But I actually need some things from Amazon!

Sort of cheating, but...

Coinstar-Finds!-Including-Bank-Counters-And-Other-Machines

My father in law was about to take his old jar of change down to the coinstar for a gift card, when I offered to look through it. Turns out his Roman coin wasn't in the safe like he thought it was!

At my local Wal*Mart that I check the CoinStar every time I go in there but this time I reached my hand in the reject slot and the cashier behind Customer Service said she wouldn't like me doing that, I said I'm just checking for any coins that might have gotten left, she said if their is any coins left behind that it is the Stores money. Has anybody else got told that or had similar problems?

I'd tell her to go pound sand... If there is money in the tray and someone else comes up there to use it would it be their money now?...

Grantee if she found it she would pocket it herself...

I remember taking money out of a vending machine coin return once and someone said "Hey that's my money!" and I just laughed and said "too bad finders keepers!" Same applies to any Coinstar machine you see.

Thats like her saying DvDs left on top of the redbox are the stores DVDs.

Coinstar is owned and operated by coin star, the label that tray the "return or reject" tray meaning coinstar does not lay claim or ownership to those coins. They DO not toss back all silver, but they do toss back a lot. Most people will try to put it back in, and most of the time it will be accepted. Coinstar's are smart but they are nothing link Brinks/Fed machines.

What an idiot! And she also either did or attempted to embarass you I would of told her the same to go pound sand but I immediately would of demanded to see her manager and went off on him! Or you could have if you thought of it said you were just their earlier using it and forgot to check the return tray...can't believe she said that to you

I would have just politely told her I disagreed as I continued to search. There is no way that is true.

People have been checking the return trays since the start of vending machines. As kids, we'd check every soda, candy, and cigarette machines. I agree: she was more concerned about you taking from "her" than from Walmart.
