Earendil Valued Member United States 165 Posts	Posted 08/02/2016 4:50 pm Although I've been expectantly checking the change return trays of CoinStar machines for years, I have had literally no luck finding silver coins of any kind. The best coins I've been able to retrieve up till now have been a steady stream of Canadian pieces, as well as the occasional U.S. clad coin. However, that finally changed the other day... One grocery store I am in fairly frequently has a CoinStar machine near its customer service counter, and I always make sure to check it the moment I walk in the store. This time, I finally found something worth reporting on: a 1907 Barber dime! I can't help but wonder how many people treated the coin as a regular dime before I found it. After I pulled it out of the machine, it actually took my brain a few seconds to register what was in my hand (mostly because it was so out-of-place). Report this Post to the Staff

They kept trying to put this dime through & the machine wouldn't take it. I gave them 2 nickels for it and everyone was happy! CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years!
