Congrats on passing your driving test, IllegalTender!
And nice job celebrating afterwards with some silver!

The Walmart Coinstar in my area has been a gold mine for finds lately (which is odd, considering it would NEVER have anything worthwhile a year ago but now I can say that for my grocery store) and today I found $2.59 in ordinary change including a James Madison Dollar coin, a 1947 wheatie, 60 centavos total from Ecuador and a quarter from the east caribbean states!

Found a dime in the Coinstar at the grocery store... Nothing fancy but at least made my grocery bill a dime cheaper...

Yesterday, I found a 1964 d dime, a 1976 french franc, and a 2013 mexican 50 cent coin. Not bad for the 30 seconds it took to check the machine and be on my way.

Hit the jackpot at the local grocery store Coinstar today. Glanced at the reject tray when I entered the store and couldn't believe what I saw. The reject tray was so full of coins that some were still in the chute waiting to come down. A total of 87 coins and miscellaneous items. Here's a recap: US 1 Dollar 8 Quarters 7 Dimes 2 Nickels 22 Cents Canadian 2 Loonies 9 Quarters 12 Dimes 4 Nickels 6 Cents Foreign (non-Canadian) 1 Ireland 1 Romania 2 British 1 Swiss 2 Mexican Other 5 Tokens 1 Medal 1 Watch battery Unfortunately there was no silver but the US and Canadian loot amounted to $9.73 in spendable cash. The only thing of any significance was three Wheaties amongst the US cents -- a 1942 and two steel pennies, 1943 and 1943-D.

Excellent haul! I wonder if someone got impatient with their dump and just left it.

Wow, that's a lot of change, tnt! I checked my Walmart coinstar today and found 13 cents. All newer pennies and a 2015d dime.

Don't know what's going on with machines lately. I just went by my local Walmart the reject tray had $3.47 in it. No silver or keepers but left $3.47 to the good.
