Stopped at the local grocery store, and found the motherland of coins in the reject slot. This is the most I have ever found at one time.   Mostly foreign coins including rupees, euro, canada, Australian, and $1.81 in US. No silver but real excited about the cool foreign finds. |

Nice find CoinRumbles. Similar to my find last week when I found 87 coins just sitting there in the reject tray. It amazes me that people just leave it there unless the folks using the machine don't know there's a reject tray. I could see people leaving some foreign coins because there's not much use for them unless you collect them. But I find a lot of US (and Canadian) as well.

I went grocery shopping today, and just like before, this stores's Coinstar has COMPLETELY dried out in the past year. The only stuff I find these days are a few pennies underneath the machine and maybe on top if I'm lucky. Walmart on the other hand, also did a complete 180 from having nothing to now having some decent stuff pretty often. |

I had good timing today... a woman and her daughter were dumping a small amount of change, and a few coins kept being rejected... most were Mexican coins, but a couple weren't... I exchanged a quarter and a dime that were not going through at face value, and the dime turned out to be this little beauty!  CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Found 84 cents in ordinary change at my grocery store's Coinstar today. First decent find from that particular location in at least 3 months.

Found a 2011 Canadian Proof dime in a reject slot... Any chance it could be silver?... It doesn't sound like it is...

If I'm not mistaken the only Canadian proof coins currently produced are in either their normal composition (x plated steel) or silver, sterling. Either way, nice proof find! I love proof coins! |

I apologize for my dumb question (I don't know how those machines actually works) but when you put the coins inside the Coinstar what you get back is a receipt or cash? And if you put for ex. $ 10 in coins, you'll get a $10 note or the machine will charge a fee on the transaction (which I suppose because no one works for free, even a machine)?
Forgive my ignorance but there are no such things where I live.

Either way, nice proof find! I love proof coins! Unfortunately it sticks to a magnet so it might not be a proof, but it is diffidently BU at the very least... It sure has a nice and bright finish to it... |

You either get back a receipt for cash (they take 11%), or you can get a full coin value gift card for approximately 30 different retailers. Nice to hear from someone from Italy... welcome!
