I think it was from the 2007 wedding set. I'm going to try uploading a photo....never done that here before.

Only +/- 850 of those wedding set were minted. I wish I had seen that ebay listing. I would have paid well over $100 for that coin. Who else on the forum has one they would like to sell? SPP - I know you have one, want to sell it ?

Didn't they also come out with one in 2011?

2007 is from the wedding set. 2008 is from the baby sets and the wedding set. There is the 2006 snowflake and a couple of 2012 anniversary versions. There are silver versions of the lucky loonies as well.

Yes because the 2007 baby set was the rattle loonie. Baby and wedding sets for 2007 and 2008 are sought after for their low mintages.

There were FOUR silver loonies in 2007. I guess the RCM over did it in the minds of people, because none sold well. Whereas similar offerings in 2006 and 2008 did sell OK. The coins released were: Rattle - not plated - Individually released - ~3200 mintage Rattle - gold plated - In special premium baby set with medallion - ~1900 mintage Blocks - not plated - With tins - ~3300 mintage Loon - not plated - Wedding set - ~900 mintage The two most recent, of the latter, offered on ebay were impaired. A lesson on NOT removing coins from sets.

What would a sealed baby blocks set with tins go for?

The new Carlton 3rd edition of NCLT coins list the building blocks keepsake box (tin) at a value between $200 - $250.

I haven't seen one with the tins sell. The last two sales on ebay were the coin alone for $350 and $430. But, that seems crazy compared to the claimed mintage of 3229. They sell at the same prices as the gold plated rattle set, which had a mintage of 1911. So, go figure. Blocks seems scarcer than the numbers, but that could be hoarding like the Montreal dealer with the rattles.

Quote: What would a sealed baby blocks set with tins go for? I've seen one sell for $750, quite easily too. Fingers crossed I might be able to get a 2007 Wedding set for a reasonable price tomorrow. Crossed again that the missus will let me keep it.

Quote: SPP - I know you have one, want to sell it ? Actually, I have more than one. But they are not for sale. One is no longer in the wedding set... I took one set apart, and the silver loon now resides in my "loon dollar" collection...

Quote: Baby and wedding sets for 2007 and 2008 are sought after for their low mintages. I've seen some good selling prices for the 2007 but I can't seem to find any good selling data for the 2008. Charlton shows a combined mintage of 1,676 for the 2008 Baby/Wedding sets yet I see the wedding set available for about issue price. My question: is the 2008 Wedding set really sought after and if so, what is the current market value?

In 2008 there were four offerings of the same silver loon. Including the coin with a picture frame and lullaby CD, and keepsake tin, so NII in Charlton isn't really correct. All that distinguishes the 2008 sets are a medallion. In 2007 every loon form-factor was different. A loon, blocks, rattle and gold plated rattle. The 2007 loon is the most scarce. The one on ebay from Sept. was a crack-out disaster. Wiped out massive value.

Does anyone have any update on these 2007 Silver Loonie coins? Are they still as hyped up as before? Any suggestions where I can buy them from other than e-bay?

Good luck trying to find one. I guarantee they will be asking upwards of $800 for set.
