Hello all, new to the forum. Thanks for all the great info. Does anyone know if albums for America the Beautiful Quarters are out yet that include the S mint mark spot? Thanks in advance. Glad I started this series late, I hate multiple books for series if it can be avoided!

Dear henryjames,
Welcome to the forum. Your "S" mint mark spot can be interpreted in several ways. Are you looking for 1 or 2 openings per design to hold the clad and silver proofs? That exists, as 1 "S" hole from Whitman Publishing in addition to the P/D coins. Littleton, Dansco among others, offer 2 "S" openings for both proof coins, in addition to the P/D coins. That would explain it all, only the Mint decided to offer this year only so far, "S" mint circulation quarters that is sold as numismatic items, as part of the "75th Anniversary" of the current SF mint building. To the best of my knowledge, no album manufacturer has offered a revamp of their current ATB albums or a supplementary page to hold the five extra quarters. Presumably they are waiting to see if these S quarters make a reappearance in 2013.

henryjames,

FYI, if your looking to work on a complete set (P and D including the S uncirculated and S silver quarters) the Dansco album that you would need is #8146 and #8147.

8146 covers the years 2010 - 2015, while 8147 covers the years 2016 - 2021. In order to collect the entire series you will need both volumes. However just to get you started get 8146 for now. You have three years to get 8147.

If you just want to collect the P & D coins only (no S coins) then you need to purchase only 7145 to cover the entire span of the series.

To get either of these albums just google Dansco Coin Albums and you'll have a number of locations (on line stores) that will have what you'll need.

It would appear that each album is priced around $21 each plus shipping depending on where you order it from. Here is one source:

I've done business with them and they are fast and efficient. But you choose who you want to do business with as there are many fine outlets available. I'm sure that other forum members could steer you elsewhere and get proper service. By all means do your own research before buying.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that there is another option in the Dansco album series and that is album #7148 but that is just a date set album where one coin per park is collected. - Just another possibility for you to consider.

Personally I hope that album manufacturers do take into consideration the 2012-S circulating quarters and issue optional replacement pages for their albums. I agree though, they'll probably wait to see if the circulating S quarters come back in 2013.
