As on O mint, those usually had poor strikes. Based on that XF40 or even 45 looks about right to me.

As far as this specific O mint date for this denomination (while you're generally correct), that hasn't been my experience. I've seen a lot of these really sharply struck with the 1871, 1872, and 1873 P mints having a lot of weakness. Almost a slight difference in design. There are a few Seated dollar dates that come with the hammer strike more often, and then the rest usually are weak.
