OK, anyone have 17 grand I can have? LOL

Ohohohohohoh, what is with charging 12.95 shipping? You would think if I am going to drop 17 grand you could at least foot the shipping and insurance.

Wow, those are seriously terrible pictures for what is actually a rather nice coin. Here are better images of it from when it was last sold: http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?hdnJu...o=92&x=0&y=0

It's definitely overpriced at the moment but not as badly as many that I've seen. It was last sold publicly for $15K, and the price has been flat since 2004 (the penultimate sale which was also $15K on the dot). The PCGS price guide lists it at $16K which is a bit high in my eyes.

I'd be interested at $14K, taking into account previous auction results.

I was going to say... You'd think they'd want to put up better pictures for a coin like that.

I was thinking the same thing as well.

If I am spending $17,000 on a coin, I want to see high quality pictures.

The seller is obviously not serious about selling that coin. If I was selling a coin of that magnitude, I would get the highest quality pictures, even if that meant professionally.

I agree, they are just fishing. But expert collectors know that coin, and they won't need the extra pictures.

Take a look at the seller's negative and neutral feedback. Even if I wanted this coin, I doubt that I would be willing to spend this amount of money with this seller.
