I'm sure it has been talked at length here at CCF regarding the somewhat inexplicable omission of a hole for the 1996-W Roosevelt dime from the Roosevelt dime Danscos, especially in light of the NCLT issues for which other Danscos have holes (e.g, 1973 Ikes, silver Ikes, 1981 SBAs, post-2002 Kennedys, etc.), and in light of the ultra-rare errors, overdates, or varities included in other Danscos (1922 Plain cent, 3-legged Buffalo, 1918/17 D Buffalo nickel, etc.). While I'm not here to pile on to those earlier discussions or debate the wisdom of what Dansco has chosen to include or exclude in its albums, I'm curious as to what other Dansco users have done with their 1996-W. Any suggestions? For now, mine's sitting in the hole for the 2026-P (the last hole on the last page of the Dansco 7125. Regards, Brian

That's weird, because my album does have a 96-W hole, it is filled, and I'm pretty sure it is a Dansco.

The Dansco w/o proofs has no spot for it, the D ansco w/ proofs does have a spot for it.

Correct. The 8125 has a hole for it and the 7125 does not. It makes perfect sense, at least to me.

It is odd it isn't in both dime albums. Mine is filling the clad dime hole in my 7070.

It would seem to me that because the 96-w wasn't a circulation issue that it wouldn't be included in the 7125 as it is intended just for BU series coins ( circulation grade ).

my 1996-W is in a 2x2 attached to the back cover of my 7125.

As unholy said, it wasnt a circulation strike, so it only shows up in the proof Dansco. Makes sense.

Yeah, but it's a clad business strike coin. Seems to make more sense in the 7125 than the silver NCLTs in the Ike non-proof album or the mint set only 1973 Ikes. The title on the cover of the 8125 says "including proof only issues.". 96-W isn't a proof only issue. It's quite the opposite. Anyhoo, wasn't trying to fuel a debate. Just seeing if anyone had creative ideas.

Actually, as mint set coins are NOT business strikes, and it was only in mint sets, that would be the logic used. It also forces you to buy more coins to fill the album. Its a conspiracy between Dansco and the Mint.

It was a perfectly logical judgment call. There are no rules, but generally speaking, those who only collect from circulation and use the 7125 are unlikely to buy any of the coins for the album, let alone a mint set just to get the 1996-W.

I have the Dansco 7125 (no proofs) and it does not have a slot for the 1996 W. Actually, I never gave it a second thought about including this coin, but it would make sense to me to include it here. I do have a 1996 W dime and it is in a 2x2 flip. Maybe I should stick it in the last hole. Interesting.
