I spotted this Capped Bust Half Dime on the rebound of getting the rug pulled out from underneath me (different thread). This one is a little more (different seller) than the previous, but I could sell off a pint (or six) of blood to make up the difference.

Does the "E" in STATES look dropped and the Eagle is looking at itlike...whoa!? Possible variety?

What do you think that PCGS said about this?

Thanks as always!

It may be one of the "color balance" things...I hope.

Actually looks like the T is raised slightly, not the E lowered. VF-35 w/ MPD?
Rest in Peace

Based on those photos, I'd have to agree with coinguybrian and revise to XF40.

I guess since the letters/numbers were "hand punched" back in the day, having a stray High or Low character would not be uncommon...especially if the character setters was a little "tipsy"?

I don't have the coin in my possession, yet, but PCGS gave it a XF40.

Well done everyone...again!
