From my other thread, looking for an accurate grade on this 1883 No Cents V nickel. The imperfections you see on the surface of the reverse is the result of removing some minor verdigris.

Grade?

I agree at Ms-63, I just dont know that it would be "slab-able" in a problem free holder due to the verdigris removal, which is visible on the surface. =(

i see an AU coin and I think it would slab but, as a worse case scenario, an NGC could state "Reverse Improperly Cleaned" and offer it an AU details grade
the reason I don see MS is that the surface just doesn't seem to qualify for MS
yes, the strike is very strong but its not as lustrous as you might see in MS grades for this coin
