I am a "hunter" mostly. I know what I am looking for, and look for that. I usually only "gather" when the hunting produces nothing.

Im more of a gatherer. Try to find the best price and grab it. But also a bit of hunter in me. I'm still a bit particular on what I buy, but there are the times where I do set out to find something particular.

Hunter.. even my email says it . coinhunter @..... The worldwide net makes coin hunting that much easier, my thread is world silver crowns, one from each country (OFEC)
and I am also a "gatherer" I buy any coin that would have some possibility to be resold so I can buy another crown coin or it's traded to get a much sought after crown coin

Neither hunter nor gatherer, I'm one of those "I can't tell you what I want, but I'll know it when I see it". I guess you'd call it wishy-washy, or maybe resource($$)-challenged!

Actually I'm Both a Hunter and Gather. I will hunt until I find what I'm looking for even going a bit above my budget. I will buy the best I can afford always looking for the best quality. I'm also a gather because I will get something just because I find it interesting or a good buy. I have also started many collections because of that fact. Therefore making me a hunter again. Wow never thought of it that way.

For purchases, I am a hunter. I have a specific list of things I want.
For circulation finds, I am a gatherer. I tend to keep many of the nicer finds, even duplicates, because I know how unappreciated modern coinage is.

I print out a wantlist and bring it along to coin shows. Then promptly forget all about the list and buy whatever catches my fancy. So I guess I'm a gatherer with delusions of being a hunter.

I am absolutely a hunter. Usually a "trap and release" hunter - not much actually stays in my collection - but I know what I'm looking to flip.

I am definitely a gatherer. My main source for coins is pocket change, so I take what I can get. Also, I'm rather new to collecting, so I need everything for any specific collection I start.

Gatherer most of the time. Hunter some of the time. When I go to shows, I'll pick up coins that I like and feel are well priced.

When I get in the car I'm a hunter. When I enter the shop I'm a hunter. 1 metre in I'm a gatherer. Hopeless every time. Its either the money burning a hole in my pocket or all the shiny things or a combination of both secretly I love it though

Usually a gatherer...if I see something that's shiny and pretty and for a great price I'll go for it. I seem to have coin ADHD. Even when I'm really interested in one coin or type, I can't stay forcus on it to long.... I really like ancient indo-greek coins.. ooooooo....but look at those Mercury dimes. oh wait....look at that 1816 austrian coin for in great shape for only 3 bucks...well, I should get that. Uncleaned ancients romans are fun, may as well see if there are any good deals on those... continue the cycle.
