not big on bills but from what I understand certain signatures can be worth more than others, but pretty much anything with a fold in it = face value

I don't see anything of value in the lot.
What is the serial number on the 1979 $5? If it starts with 33000, that is a Test note and is worth $1,500 in VF condition.

Nice find! I'd save them even if there is little collector value. Perhaps give the $1 bills to young collectors who probably have never seen one.

Nice find, but spend them at Tim Horton's as they only have face value.

I say you did great even if none of them are worth more than face value. I haven't seen one of those tens in circulation for at least 10 years, and longer (or never) on the rest. The real value may be found where Senex has suggested.

If you're looking for a profit, spend them! If you're looking for a hobby, such a collection is a keeper! IMHO Cheers

your one dollar note BCU1791981 missed being a radar note by one digit, too bad!

Quote: and finally 3 centennial 1 dollar notes the bottom two being replacement notes The bottom two are just regular notes. Replacement notes for the 1967 series have a * in front of the serial number. A "*F/P" prefix would have been a great find! I concur with the others with them being worth approximately face value. You could probably a little more than face for the $5 and $10 notes.

hmm, I was at the bank today asking the teller if she had any older dollar coins turned in - she said no but showed a bunch of older bills (oldest looked like 1979 series - 5's, 10's, and 20's) and asked if I wanted them.. I didn't pick them up, opportunity lost? If it were you, would you go back for them? (Okay, you would probably wouldn't have left them behind in the first place.. LOL)

I'd jump on that like a fat kid in an ice cream truck on a diet. Get them for face value and hold them for a few years.

1979 $20 bills are a terrible investment idea.
