i have had this toonie since the first day these were released. Back in the day I thought that there might be some value own the road. Does anyone know if this one is a good example of a misstrike and where I could go about finding a buyer. I have a bunch of other coins that I have had since I was a little kid and I just have no idea how to go about valuing them. Any suggestions?

You have to treat this coin with the same approach as porcupines do when they mate: VEEERRY CAREFULLY!
In the case of the coin, the central disk may fall out if you don't.
I have never seen an error of this kind before.

The coin is in a case to protect it. I just took it out for the pictures. The center is a little loose, but still pretty secure.

That's a nice one! Core was way off to the side when struck.

The degree of off centering of this coin is quite rare. The problem with pricing is demand. A similar coin, certified, is being offered on ebay for 350 (a fair price) for some weeks already, with no takers. As I was told by a Canadian expert: twoonies are coins for 25 years from now.

Throw it on ebay and let everyone in this post know it's there. I'm sure you'll fetch a nice amount for it.

NO! Try to sell it now and you will get at least 5 times LESS what it really worth - for the rarity and eye appeal. I have coins with similar degree (and a little more). They are on PCGS holders with instructions to my heirs to sell them only after 35-40 years of the issue date. Lesser off-centres and circulated coins are common. Throw it on ebay and I will fetch it for a nice amount.

OP said she's looking for a buyer and she can't sell on this website. I don't think she wants to wait 20 more years. I think that's where she'll get the best price if she lets everyone here know its listed

I just thought that would be her best bet to sell. Maybe after your posts she will decide to keep it.

Would this coin have enough of a retail value to have it TPGed? John1

Spectacular! I've never seem one like it. Get it slabbed, has to be worth a couple hundred at least.

A Lighthouse hard coin holder is fine. You don't need to grade/slab it to sell it - the error speaks for itself...
