I have been looking at some 3CS lately, and I am not sure that I care for the Type I (I like the extra lines around the star on Type II) but here is one that may sway my decision. This one seems to have a thin planchet, since the outline details appear on both sides, or is that the result of a die clash? What do you think that NGC bestowed upon it? Thanks as always! Hard to tell the grade from the pictures posted. I don't believe it's a die clash. It may well be a thin planchet as you can easily see both die designs on each side of the coin. Neat looking coin! Not sure if it's a weak strike or wear from the pics. Gonna guess XF-45 to AU 53...

Wow, that is a nice coin. I would have to be closer to the MS64 camp. The lack of detail in the star is from grease or weak strike. Hard to find these with full detail.

My first impression was to go with AU-58 but after thinking about it for a bit I think it might be MS. I will make a guess of MS-62. The coin looks like it was struck from tired dies.

MS-62 also from these photos, hard to tell any wear spots on this piece. But larger sharper photos might help.

I normally let these "what do you think" threads run for about 24 hours. I agree that the images above are not really clear, it is what I have to work with;
