So do I, but he is diving into the deep end of the pool (gold) while I am still on the shallow end.

Looks undergraded, in a very old ANACS (first generation?) slab. Type II trimes often are weakly struck but this one has a sharp date and fairly strong star definition. There also appears to be a hint of luster on the reverse. The lack of detail on the shield is likely partially due to strike.

I'd have guessed EF-40. It's a nice example for a circulated type set!

I originally had it list in the OP as a NGC holder, based upon the crapped images, but when I posted the image of the slab insert, I changed the OP title and description. I believe that it's the first generation ANACS slab, at least it looks like the first image;

My friend who is building his set liked the orignality of this one, I was saving it as a "watch" item, but he snagged it, fortunate for me since I picked the next one;
