First off, this is not mine (I wish it was )! This belongs to a friend who I am helping build his Slabbed 7070, and he is off to a great start and "one-upped" me and "went for the gold". So I guess that means I came in second place with the silver.
What do you think NGC had to say about this? These incuse strikes are tricky (IMO) to grade, and the lettering, stars and numbers have an unusual appearance, almost doubled, but it's part of the design.
I will guess AU-58. I think there might be a bit too much friction on the cheekbone, war bonnet, top of the wing, and the fields to qualify for a MS grade but there are many cases where a similar coin is given one of the lower MS grades.
Certainly AU. I see wear on the top of the eagle's wing, the war band and a lot of contact marks. There is an odd spot of orange discoloration on both feet. Reverse rim shows wear and scuffs.
I don't like guessing what a TPG gave it, but I enjoy giving my own opinion and observations. ;D
