I'm sure if you really try, you'll find some. I've had most of my luck down at the jewelry district, over in Downtown Los Angeles, CA. Not sure if you have something like that, but just about anywhere that'll buy used goods might carry them. Like pawnshops, jewelry shops and other similar stores.

I also use CL (craigslist.org) for local hunts and sometimes when I plan to drive down to another city for one thing or another, I'll check and see if anyone is selling anything in that area as well. I'm sure most people won't recommend CL, especially with all the news about people getting robbed and stuff.

If you have a credit card, I'll just type Junk Silver in google and check out the first page of links. Or ebay. Can't really go wrong with buying on ebay, since there's no fees or anything for buying, besides your usual shipping charges.

I also wait for my local coin convention to show up, which happens to be Long Beach Coin Convention, which is 3 times a year, so sometimes if I forget to get something or don't have enough cash to buy it, I'd have to wait another 4 months, since most deales in my area don't carry everything you want at once.

There's a lot of online stores but never really checked them out due to huge shipping and the painful waiting for the package to show up, can't stand the wait. Especially when I'm tracking it and I watch it go AWAY from me. haha.

It usually walks up to me about once or twice a week at my mall gig and I usually buy it for fair prices. Say 20 on Morgans or Peace dollars, 10 on walkers, Bens, and JFKz and 5 on quarters and 2 bucks on dimes....

I got bag of bangers today, 13 Mercs, 10 Roosevelt's, 7 Walkers, 1 Ben, 1 Morgan 1921, Two Peace dollars 1922 and 23, and four ASE including later I noticed a 1996 all toned an dirty, nothing real special....

Oh, and one of those Liberty .999 rounds, the illegal I suppose "American Liberty currency" coin, lol....

So $10.55 face of 90% and five oz. of rounds for close to almost 300....

I collect World coins before 1950, when silver was started to be withdrawn from World circulating currency.

I have about a kilogram, in a wide variety of World junk silver.

I have never made any specific attempt to collect junk silver. Almost all of it has come from parts of job lots I have acquired over the years. The only time I have made a really significant profit on junk silver was when the Hunt brothers tried to corner the market.

I have not sold any junk silver since then. Most of my current stuff has been acquired when silver was below $10.

Obviously, I am a very slow accumulator of junk silver.

If you live in or near a major metropolitan area I'd be surprised if you didn't have at least a few local coin dealers. I buy all of my junk silver locally, and typically at or near spot price.

If you are not interested in an offer a simple email saying "I'm not interested" would suffice. I'm sorry to rant but that is my biggest pet peeve on here, when no body will take the time to reply.

And Hawk it was a pleasure as always.

The reason it bugged me is I took time to research shipping to Canada which didn't take a lot of time but took some, just figured It was worthy of a response.

It's no problem just a little common courtesy would have been sufficient.

Good luck and God Bless

Pleasure as always! I packed it up nice an tight in the crown royal bag I got when I bought it....

No better feeling then pulling out a hand full of old silver coins, as silver coins are like night an day better then modern day ka ka coins....

They just feel better in ones hand....

When I bought them from dude I pulled out modern dime and compared them side by side via a Merc, as I am always teaching....

When I do gold or silver tests, I always explain to the customer what is going on as we work our way up the acid chart from 10k to 14k and up. If I got a piece of 14k and it holds up to 10 an 14k acid, when I put 18kA on it, if it truly is 14k the mark turns black. I don't even need a hallmark to determine how many of those bugs bunny carrots are in the gold in front of me....

That is what I enjoy the most about the job, education people on things they know little to zero about....

This lady the other day could not get gram out of her mind, even after I broke down the conversion formulas each way....

"Well, I used to work in a jewelry store, and we did everything in grams, what a pennyweight?" lol....
