Hello
I been finding coins that have raised lines on them.They also look like they are under the devices and some over.Im just wondering what causes those lines....

Those are die polishing marks. The person in charge of the coin press will periodically stop the press and burnish the dies with a fine wire brush. If the polishing gets a little overzealous fine gouges can be put into the die itself. These will show as fine raised lines on the resulting struck coin.

noahs....this is a great site.I really learned a lot from those guys.They don't care if its just a lil scratch,someone will respond and give a good explanation. :)
