Hello  I just found this thread, I know this is an old thread but are you still doing this? If so, I would really like to see how the coins are doing. I would try doing this myself but I use a clothesline. Anywho, just thought id ask. |

I am, just not photographing like I should. I have forgot them at home quite a few weeks leaving in a hurry.
One time I had to get them to unlock the lint trap to get the penny it made it out and on the big screen for fuzz.
Thank you for refreshing this thread and I will keep the photos going.

@Br0mney. I am not sure if you saw this post. I grew up with Dryer Coins and how they are made  https://goccf.com/t/143863Also, as one of the last posts on that thread says, remember that commercial machines are working day and night sometimes. So it might take a vary long time to get a homemade Dryer Coin. The other thing is that the home dryers I have seen only have one tub - so there is no place for the coins to be made. You could try to make one using a washing machine. But if you have a top loader, it will not work since the coins would simply fall and sit on the bottom, inside the outer tub. If you have a front loading washing machine, it will have two tubs for the coins to be trapped between, so you could try it. But this is only if you would want the hassle later of tearing apart the machine, separating the tubs, and retrieving the coins. I can tell you from experience - it usually requires a special tool to first remove the agitator. Its not a fun/fast job.  I just thought of something else. You probably could throw the coins - by themselves - in your dryer and run it day and night for awhile. But if you have clothes in with the coins, the coins are cushioned most of the time they are falling - so they would not get continually beat up like they should. Although even with the above scenario, I am not sure the desried results would be pbtained. The fins inside the dryer tub would not give the coins the same environment they would be in when caught between the two tubs.  |

This is a cheap experiment for fun.
Some of the coins I looked at in your previous post are really messed up.
Will follow up with more photos weekly.

Round #14 The biggest changes to these coins is they have rounded edges making them impossible to stand on the edge. The penny has nearly lost the flat sides and is becoming a round coin. The rims are raising and becoming sharp. The hard nickel is wearing slower.   |
