I have been buying going to swap meets for the past two weeks and these are the coins I ended up purchasing. These are all for my type set album.

NOTE: I am starting to not like my intercept shield type album because it feels cheap.

I bought the bicentennial 40% silver proof set for 20 dollars. I am the one that messed up the Kennedy when I was trying to get it out of its airtight case.

I bought the 1978 S Eisenhower for 5 dollars.

The 1987 ASE was 40 dollars ( I really liked the toning)

The 2004 S Sacagawea was 5 dollars

The 1981 S Susan B Anthony was 2 dollars

The 1957 Proof like silver quarter was 10 dollars

The 1964 Kennedy was 12 dollars

The 1937 Buffalo nickel was 1 dollar

The 1958 Franklin was 17 dollars

The 1883 Liberty Cent "no cent" was 3 dollars

The 1867 Shield nickel "no rays" was 8 dollars

2006 S Jefferson was 3 dollars

The 1927 Standing Liberty was 7 dollars.

The 1944 Mercury dime was 2 dollars.

HOW DID I DO?!?

Over all a decent deal. Nothing fantastic but really some decent prices.
I've always found it odd that in different parts of the country such places have different names. By me they are all flea markets. In some places they are swap meets. Bargain areas, swapping place, Swaperama, etc.
Not long ago there was a special on PBS about those places.

Must be a west coast thing. We call them swap meets in California too.

Not to change the subject but you are the second Forum member I have heard recently that did not like the Intercept Shield type coin album. I was putting some thought into getting one but after your thoughts I will probably take that album out of consideration. Thanks for sharing that about the album. Other than that you got a good start on your type set. As stated above it was a little high for the Kennedy's but not that bad.

You really should look into those a bit more carefully. There are many reasons some like one brand and others like a different one. Also, the Intercept Shield one he has may be old, used, poorly made, etc. Others may put all the other brands to shame. So many people say they like Dansco due to them looking so rich and like a real book. Then just hide them from view. Lots of complaints about Littleton but probably due to their high prices on their coins.
And again on those flea market, swap meet purchases, really decent buys.

You got some decent buys for a swap meet. Usually prices at those are way over what they should be.
As for albums, I'm using a Dansco 7070. Great quality and better than the Littleton and Bookshelf albums I've used in the past.
