Quote: I am sure many of you will be happy to know I actually cracked this one out of the slab. Yep, Mr. slab the keys broke it out. But ONLY because I really want to fill this album. It made it about an hour before the pliers came out. LOL I wish I had seen this one sooner, but it made my day.

jbuck, you were one of the ones I figured would appreciate it. LOL since the pics from the first thread had the link broken... kellyk, thats pretty much what was in the album when I bought it. I had upgraded a couple that were totally jacked and added one or two. Quote: I would of left Noooooooooooooooooooooooo! It is NOT would of. It is would've, the contraction of would have! Normally I would have left it in the slab, but I want this album to be as complete as I can manage.

A 77' in any condition is a wonderful coin to have. I think its one that will also rise in value faster than most other keys. Congrats on the nice coin. Now its time to upgrade some of those other ones :). I think this may be the first IHC collections I've seen that had a 77' (as well as other tough semi-keys) and also had common dated 1890's and 1900's in low grades.

I agree, this particular coin needed to be freed to join his buddies in the album You documented it as a picture in it's slab which was a good move

hesqut, I am trying to leave the original coins as much as I can. I replaced the truly gnarly ones, and 4 others are slated for replacement, but thats about it. Dave, I do occasionally think things all the way through.

I'm glad my album doesn't have a hole for the 1856 FE. I have everything but the 77. Congrats !

Raymo, yeah, like I said, that particular hole will remain unfilled. Any 56 I get will remain slabbed forever. Presuming I actually ever manage to get a coin that runs like 7 grand in good. LOL

Keeping the cents in that old folder makes it so much more enjoyable to look at. I have two never used 1952 copyrighted Daniel Stamp Company (Dansco) folders I am considering filling with XF/AU coins. One is for Peace dollars and one is for Walking Liberty halves 1935 through 1947. I have one for Buffalo nickels copyrighted 1939 also from Daniel Stamp Company that's in decent condition which I would be willing to part with. Ed ANA LM-3175

Gyrene, I love the old albums. Having coins in an album that is a rarity in and of itself just adds to it IMO.
