Any idea if this is PMD it's a nice 19? Wheat penny slightly rotated reverse (hard to tell being half a penny) the serrated edges will tell the story to knowledgeable folks. When a penny is cut / clipped or damaged like this one is there any tool or machine in the mint that would use a serrated edge or was this just someone cutting the penny in half?

Definitely PMD serrated cutters plus the distortion to the design gives away that the pressure from cutting was done after the cent was minted.

Definitely PMD and worth about $.006 (actually its copper so its probably worth $.01) If it wasn't copper and a Wheat cent I would just say throw it away.

When I first started coin hunting I kept wayyyyyy to many coins. Things you think are neat now you will soon learn are very common. With that being said the only way to learn is to read and research and make a post. Make a mental note what you think the coin is then you can verify if you are correct or incorrect by the forums answers. You will learn faster if you do some research then ask the forum. This forum is an amazing resource.

Your posts are great. Very good pictures and very good descriptions so you will not have a hard time getting responses and valuable information.

I found a large Cud that before I started collected I probably would have just spent it and not even given it a second look (ok maybe a second look..its a BIG Cud). Its probably worth over $125 bucks! I never even heard of a Cud before I got to this forum.

Anyways to the forum and Happy Hunting!
