Hi All,
I am very new to this and I was wondering if I could get some help on a coin that I found the other day. It is a year 2000 mob of roos $1 coin and on the back right ontop of the 2000 year there is a big number 2 engraved in the coin? it looks like it may of come from the mint like this as there is no markings to suggest it was done after the fact..Could it be a test coin of some sort? Hope you can solve this one out for me, I have taken pics aswell, I know the pics arnet the best but thats the best I can get of my phone

Fishyboy
What you have here is a counter stamped coin.
Post Mint damage.
You see these in your change every now and then.
They are unusual but are not an error coin and have no numismatic value .
Unlike the 2000 Muled coin this one has been Tooled
Stick around on this site and you will learn a mass of information from the error experts here (Not Me).
Once again
To the family

I hold onto most anything counterstamped. There's a story behind every piece, even if only boredom.

I would hold onto it because they dont turn up often and theyre cool. As trout rightly pointed out its not an error but a form of PMD and not worth more than $1.

Ps to CCF!!!
