At the same time tho... it is Aussie... so being an Aussie... it's natural that I am keen to "try to" and "want to" support it....

About a year ago, the owner of "APCGS" joined the forum here, not once but three times, to spam their new "service". The other alt-IDs they used were "aussiegrading" and "investego".

The admins and mods here have a very low tolerance for spammers. Especially spammers who think we're gullible idiots.

I sincerely hope the rumours the OP mentioned about an Australian TPG branch were not referring to this galah.

I think most of us would prefer to use a reputable TPG if one landed here but it will be interesting to see if APCGS
slabbed coins attract the same type of premium price as PCGS or NGC - Time will Tell

I'd doubt it very much Stevo, if they were to have the slighest bit of credibility they would have done the ground work in finding out what MS means for a start, everyone of their grades start with MS,What the ....

Perhaps a 'Third Grader Party' as opposed to a 'Third Party Grader'.

Maybe someone should email them & tell them what MS/Mint State means,I'm all for giving an aussie a go but when they don't know even the basics of the grading system they are using I can't see any point in supporting them.

I got a reply from APCGS
This certainly install confidence

Hi Jim, Our MS grades are the same grades that PCG use.
Our grading system is related to the MS system which would give you a grade that is from G-good to GEM - gem UNC. If the coins are proof coins, obviously MS would be replaced with PR. If you have anymore queries, please dont hesitate in contacting us. Regards Shane

I also got an answer today

Hi Steve,
You are the second person in a week that has just asked me that.
We have chosen to use the ms/pr grading system that all known
grading companies use. Maybe in the future we would look at
the sheldon rather than this grading system.
Regards Shane
