I found a Roosevelt dime with a rounded rim. It looks like it came from the mint that way,it's shiny and smooth and you can see the thin line of the copper and the coating. It does not look like a worn dime and I'm sorry I don't have a picture but I will have one tomorrow..I'm out of state. Please give info on what it might be.

Post a picture, I have one like that. The coin itself is fine on the obverse and the reverse but I can barely make out maybe 1 or two lines on the edge. Mine is a Dryer Coin.

I have found a few close to what you may have except mine have sharp slightly raised edges on both obv. and rev. and no reeding whatsoever. Thus coin is a tad thicker then normal. No other spreading or abnormal devices. Not O.C. and both obv. and rev. are normal. Even a nice grade so not worn much at all. Wonder if possible on these to have been struck out of collar with no other ill effects happening. ?

It could also be a coin that someboday started spooning (making a ring) and gave up. That would account for it being in good condition as opposed to a Dryer Coin that would show other damage.

It just looks worn to me. I have a lot of quarters that look pretty good but have smooth edges.

I know some coins that were used in slot machines will get worn like that. I remember seeing some old Silver Dollars that spend their life in Vegas and allot of them were worn smooth on the edge like that. Not sure what caused yours as the pictures are very small but it may have been something like this. I am speaking from a very small amount of knowledge when it comes to error coins but I would think if it was struck out of the collar it would be allot bigger in diameter than a regular dime and the strike would be very weak

I took the pictre with my scanner and it didn't do any justice to the dime. It is actualy in very good shape and it is't anything like the slot machine quarters

The obv and rev don't show as much wear as I would expect from a coin so worn as to not have any reeding. I have coins so old and worn that you can't make out the date...and the reeding is still there.

@Bryan1315 You stole my thunder, I agree with you 100% and couldn't count the number of Quarters & Half Dollars I received from the slot machines with no egde reeding at all... The last casino I visited used a type of prepaid debit card and you could hear a coin drop to the floor, it was so silent compared to the old days... Also, when was the last time dryers accepted dimes?
