I can't speak of the actual grading as I prefer NGC , PCGS or ANACS, it may very well be a tack less than an AU-58 , maybe a AU-55 but I really wonder what it may be worth?

If anyone wonders about "what a Mule Mint error is?" check it out here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mule_(coin)this type of coin also has another form of name , most of the time called a "double head" if it has 2 of the same observe or "double tail" if both parts are the reverse of a coin or in this example it could be called a " 1974 NZ struck with 2 Observe dies".

Didn't this one just sell for $500+? Seems like a strong price, atleast compared to some of the euro mules that have been selling. How many are estimated to exist?

i would only buy a 2 headed or tail coin that was graded by ngc or pcgs there are a lot of manufactured two headed coins as novelites and are done really well.

Heh, I would be deathly afraid of it being a garage job as NNC is not an actual TPG(self-slabbing seller) and should not be trusted for grade or authenticity.

There is a known 20c New Zealand double head mule. I can't find a New Zealand 5c double head mule.

NNC don't have issues with Authenticating a coin being genuine or not but they do have issues with grading and that is a fact.

I would crack it out and send it to pcgs or ngc. Its likely to have much better resale if its in one of their slabs as a genuine error.

I haven't received it yet and exactly what I was thinking of doing, however, I was also thinking of just sending it back for a refund, I'm not too proud of the slab and NNC won't refund you if you pop it out the slab. By the looks of it, it may very well be about unc but I'll just have to see it with my own 2 eyes and than I'll decide to return it or not. It's a bit scary purchasing coins from them ,I am well aware that they grade their coins by at least 5 or 7 notch up but what I'm really afraid of is if it's genuine and that I can't tell unless I take it out of the slab and see it for myself so this one I kinda regret of purchasing. I probably will send it back.

Sorry, I had assumed that this was a varified error already with possibly other examples known. Try and work out a deal with the seller to allow you to examin the coin out of slab and send it back if you find that it is a counterfeit. It's always worth a try; some sellers are truelly understanding. I'm not sure how this works if you do return it, with weird ebay rules and all, but it would be worth looking into.
