They were minted from 1851 to 1872 in mint state and from 1854 to 1873 in proof. Type 1 (your coin) was minted from 1851-53 and all but the 51-O were minted in Philadelphia. It would be a good one to do a contest with since it was a one year only coin from this mint. I don't really like the idea of this happening like this because I am sure it isn't the spirit of the contest the person holding it was wanting but it is what it is if that is what it is I guess Report this Post to the Staff
