Anyone hear if DANSCO is updating their 7070 or adding a 7070 page for the more recent coins such as the Lincoln Shield Cents, Westward Nickels, etc? I thought someone had mentioned something about September but I could be mistaken.

Didn't want to wait, so made my own.

Blank small dollar page with a inkjet printed plastic overlay glued in top corners.

These people at Dansco make my head spin.
Wish they would get their act together on the new 7070.

Oops.

billymac11, what did you use to shim the coins into the small dollar holes (the white material)?

After Dansco gets their head out of the sand with the new Type album, they need to put together a "good" website for their customers. They're living a little behind the times.

I added a gold page, but ended up selling the high dollar coins because of the high gold price.

Why should they? They prefer not to sell direct to the customer. Sure, if you call them they will, but their model is to let their resellers do the marketing and sales. They do not even need to list their dealers since Google will do that for them. I doubt very seriously they are losing any significant business by not having a web presence. Just my opinion.
Rest in Peace

I think Dansco needs a reality check. One of the other album manufacturers should produce an updated 7070 clone and beat Dansco to the market. Dansco has been dragging their feet way too long on this. It almost seems like they don't care at this point.

I should point out the I wasn't nitpicking billymac, I was carefully looking at it because I was impressed with what you were able to do and wondering if I could do something like that myself. Then I noticed that things were a little off.

I was just rereading the comments and thought mine could have been interpreted as being a little harsh.

If Dansco had competition, I am sure they would either adapt or lose. Right now, they do not; so you only get what they offer. They make the sales they need without spending money on marketing or development. This type of complacency is common when there is no real competition for a product.

My mother is fond of saying "If you think you can do better, then do it; complaining gets you nowhere."

So, who is going to create a competing album?

Isn't the Intercept Shield Album a direct competitor to Dansco? I see they have a new sixth page that covers 21st century coins:

Yes it is, in my opinion. Some may disagree because of popularity, quality, and other reasons.

Which only fuels the frustration with Dansco.

For the longest time, the 7070 was considered to be only a 19th & 20th century type set. However, the market seem to want more from it.

Being an optimist, I hope Dansco has been doing thorough research before releasing an update page and/or a new album. I also suspect they were waiting to see what sort of craziness the mint pulls. Imagine if they had created a new 21st century page in 2007, only to have the new Lincoln Cent and ATB Quarters render it outdated.
