Very nice pickup ttkoo - much better for being the Roses and Plumes type instead of the much more common SSC type. Keep an eye out for the WCC variety if you want really scarce!

This week I'm showing a newly acquired token from an English County I had no tokens from in my collection, Lincolnshire. This one is a 1793 Wainfleet halfpenny token featuring the figure "Hope" on the obverse and the William Wayneflete Abbey on the reverse. As I really like error coins so jumped at this one, struck on a very cracked planchet.  "Buy the Book Before You Buy the Coin" - Aaron R. Feldman - "And read it" - Me 2013! ANA Life Member #3288 in good standing since 1981, ANS, Early American Coppers Member (EAC), Colonial Coin Collectors Club member (C4), Conder Token Collector Club member (CTCC), Civil War Token Society (CWTS) member, Liberty Seated Collectors Club (LSCC) & Numismatic Bibliomania Society member (NBS), USMex, Member in good standing, 2¢ variety collector. Very interesting Lincolnshire Conder, westcoin -- it looks just enough out-of-round to account for that subtle crack as a post-strike catastrophe. It also could have had a successful second career in a Pac-Man console, judging by appearances!
Thanks for your compliments on my desktop image, but some full disclosure is called for here: Only three of those tokens were snapped on my scanner. The rest are split between my iPhone 14 Pro and sellers' pics. And I mentioned Irfanview because that's the image editor I used extravagantly for all sorts of post-snap manipulation, including "color correction" and for all the stitching and background that goes into such a montage.
As the responsible elf, I do have a strong hunch that Santa's bringing me a new "dedicated" 4800 x 4800 scanner that was recommended not too long ago in a NY Times "Wirecutter" review. It's hardwired (no wi-fi) and scanning is its only function, so all the tech is focused on one thing, apparently, and it gets raves for doing it well, particularly depth, lighting, and color discrimination. Look for "Epson Perfection" if you're in the market. Because it isn't built into a printer like my current Canon flatbed, finding room for it in my man cave will be the real challenge! Incidentally, and for comparison, my Canon's resolution is 600 x 1200 dpi, so I'll expect a huge leap in image fidelity, if that's the correct terminology.

Thanks for the recommendations on scanners. I actually have a few 2 Epson models, an older one that I had for my work (photographer) with a transparency adapter it's older but still the beast (it's in storage) a film only scanner 4000dpi (doesn't get much work anymore), and a cheap home Epson model I often use for scanning literature for myself and for the NNP/Internet Archive project.
I saw that after I posted and then tried to figure out which were scanned vs. photos. I have tried Irfranview, but have had an Adobe subscription for a decade now and been a registered Photoshop user since version 2.0.1 (that might date to around 1991 if I am correct in remembering), now it's nearing v25!
I am recently using the Serif's Affinity application suite of graphic programs pretty much exclusively, and have been actually thinking of binning the Adobe stuff after several decades. I don't really need the AI stuff, but am intrigued with it, so I keep playing with it. All my latest photos are put together with Affinity Photo and my Canon 7D camera.

Another purchase from my recent foray to The Purple Penny in Mawson Lakes, Adelaide, is this 1911 half groat Maundy UNC. I note from Numista that 6,007 were minted proof, and only 1,635 were minted "prooflike". How do I discern which grade mine is? The Ox moves slowly, but the Earth is patient.

ttkoo - we'd call that a Maundy twopence rather than a half-groat. Both were worth 2d, but the term 'half groat' tends to be applied to the old hammered coins that were intended for normal circulation.
The proof should have mirrored surfaces while the standard coin from a Maundy set will generally be prooflike with a better finish than a standard circulation coin. Not sure how I'd tell them apart unless I had a complete Maundy Set and Proof Set to compare.

Another weekend purchase was this 1884 Third Farthing. I understand that these were minted for colonial use in Malta. From 1844 onwards they were struck in bronze. And final purchase was this knocked about 1855 farthing, with an unfortunate rim ding. WW raised. The 1st 5 in date has a closed off loop, not sure if that is significant. A couple of minor die cracks on the reverse and a small planchet flaw under the forearm. But it fills a hole in my array of 1/4 pennies.  The Ox moves slowly, but the Earth is patient.

This one in small change today... I jest! This from the recent Spink auction - Harthacnut penny, S1170. He reigned 1040 to 1042 and had both England and Denmark. This coin struck in Denmark by "TOCI ON LUDI".  |

And it is struck in the town of Lund, back then in Denmark, today in south of Sweden . By a moneyer named Toke, a common Viking name. What a cool coin! |
