Do you take the coins out of the slab? and how much do dimes go for that are slabbed? I have never bought a slab coin. I usually go with raw ones.

No, I don't "crack 'em out" of the slabs. The 51-S was a raw coin and I purchased the 51-D at a later time.

I just noticed the die crack at the back of Roosevelt's head (51-D) that reaches to the rim (first slab finger).

Great upgrade you have made.
To set the coin free or leave it captive?
This is the question, I belive its your coin
and if you choose to break it out and fill a empty
spot in your album, why not, it is yours.

Oh that 51-S is lovely though . . . (you should see some of the crap I've gotten out of circulation)

Hey, if you happen to decide you want to sell it
