My second Buff and I have an idea of what I'd grade it, but unsure on what the ding on the ring at ~ 9 o'clock on the obverse does to the grade. I'd love some feedback.

The last matte proof buffalos were minted in 1916, and the only proof nickels that were made in '38 were Jeffersons.

About the grade, I'd say MS-63. Shame about the rim hit at 9 o' clock on the obverse. If not for that it'd probably be a 64-65.

AU...horn has quite a bit of rub as does the left hip.

I was thinking around AU as well. The luster is still very nice, but I think most 38's like this still have quite a bit. I thought the mint mark looked a little off myself. After looking at a closer crop, I'm not so sure.

High end AU I think, the M/M looks normal, no doubling or over S which would have been nice

Looks nice.
