ok so I was surfing ebay in the collections and lots and noticed some world silver misplaced. so I jump and bid n 3 and win. weird the rest disappeared? so I thought he relisted them ill wait and try again tomorrow. so the first day he combines them but not shipping so all well it'll change. then I win 3 more that night from him and I noticd he groups them seprerately however theyre only 24 hours apart. he later send me an invoice and sais I need to pay and he expected me to pay for the first 3 that night. however I look and the guy is charging $10 for shipping.huh the coins I only paid 8.97! I ask him if he would combine shipping. he then replies I dont since I had to file an unpaid invoice on you (after 2 days). he then ask if I want to just cancel to save us time. so I accept long story short he doesn't cancel them and I get marks against me? I mean really a crooked seller. Has anyone else had a problem like this? sorry for the long story

If I see a cooked up shipping fee I will normally just ignore the listing.
If however a seller is listing a number of coins I like then I will email and ask about combined postage/shipping BEFORE I put a bid up.
Be sure to ask at what rate the combined shipping is set.
Sometimes they will post them all in the same parcel and charge the same as for 1 coin.
Some just knock off $1 an item and you end up with a ridiculous postage charge anyway.

The best thing to do is if you consider that the postage has been listed at a high rate and you are not happy with it, Simply walk away

if you bid first and asked about combined shipping later I am sorry to say you are on the hook for the invoice. it might not be fair, but when you hit the button you agreed to HIS terms. it works both ways for seller and buyer protection, if people try to start negotiating after the auction is over then the whole structure falls apart.
for him to ask for payment right away is kind of ridiculous, unless his terms stated that payment was due immediately. again, if the auction said PAY NOW and you bought it then you should've paid right away.

Always check shipping cost on the listing and ask about combined shipping costs before bidding. Some will just say sure I combine...ask for exact cost for extras.

I always ask about combined shipping before I bid if the seller has more than one coin I am interested in if their listing doesn't have any information about it especially if the shipping charges are high like this. If they do not combine or if they only have one coin I want then I will not bid. The seller said he had to file an unpaid claim against you because you didn't pay in 2 days, usually most sellers will combine shipping within 24 hours of auctions ending if they have multiple items but how long were you wanting him to wait to see if he had others you wanted to save on shipping? 2 days and expecting combined shipping seems a little excessive to me but I may be the only one that feels this way

2+3=5 items, x $2 each shipping... $10?

the time to ask about or expect combined shipping (if not stated in the auction details) is BEFORE you bid/win, not after.

personally I dont bid/buy if a seller doesn't combine a little on the shipping, but I also know from selling that I often take losses on shipping to encourage bids. and if the items sell for a low price I can't afford to combine shipping even if I wanted to.

for him to offer to cancel the transactions does sound like he is wanting to relist and maybe get a higher price, and/or he was trying to pad the sale with the shipping rates. either way its on you for buying it.

Trout pretty much summed up exactly how I feel and what I do. I make sure I know what's up with shipping before I bid.

But yeah, crooked seller you found there.

I have no clue about this seller or if this is usually how it works or not. However I will add that you did take a while to pay. Sellers dont like to wait for days to get their payments and it could be that since you waited so long that he didnt feel the need to make it cheaper for you
