I may do that. I want to have a few experts I know take a looksie at it first. Not sure when I'll be able to make the trip there due to work schedule, but I'll make it happen. I'm not saying it's a mint error of some sort, but that would be awesome! Just don't get bent outta wack if it's not done soon. I'm a factory worker and we're slammed with O.T. right now.

I guess I'm not in that big of a hurry, cause it just looks fake to me the more I look at it. I compared it side by side to a "real" LMC and it just doesn't match. When I get a chance I'll take it to my guy and see what he says. I trust him. nothing against Mr. Diamond obviously. From what I've seen, he is highly thought of on here.

No date and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST looks very enlarged. LIBERTY is perhaps oversized as well. Some kind of monkey business going on. It's possible that the obverse was ground off and a false obverse design was impressed into a replacement layer of metal, either before or after it was affixed to the normal reverse half of the coin.

It might be worth a write up in Coin World. If you want to go this route, contact me at mdia1 at aol dot com.

I underlined why you should connect with Mr.Diamond, unless your guy can do better.
