No trace of a date. Face is just... weird is the best description. The scratch on his face is PMD I'm sure.

No date and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST looks very enlarged. LIBERTY is perhaps oversized as well. Some kind of monkey business going on. It's possible that the obverse was ground off and a false obverse design was impressed into a replacement layer of metal, either before or after it was affixed to the normal reverse half of the coin.

It might be worth a write up in Coin World. If you want to go this route, contact me at mdia1 at aol dot com.

It is possible that it was messed with ...but those big fat letters are still a puzzle.

I sometimes wonder when these oddities show up if they weren't practice pieces for people trying to make fake error coins.

Buddy might have it right except for the lettering on the face. Looks more like an ad piece very poorly done.

Ad piece? I'm not familiar with that term. Could you explain?

An example of an ad piece is on this page:https://goccf.com/t/126486&whichpage=2
Scroll down to the 7th post. Many dollars have ads stamped on them for various web sights. Tokens are more often used for advertising.

Maybe someone electroplated the heck out of it? That's why the letters look so fat?
