I have searched the forum and was unable to find any threads about this topic. If this is not the correct location I apolgize. I'm new here and couldn't find a better place to ask about TPG holders.

Is there a way to remove scuf marks from the face of a holder? I don't mean narrow scratches. I'm talking about the wider white scuf marks taht occur on plastic. I have a holder with a scuf over the center of a coin and it blocks the view. I don't want to pay to regrade and reCAC. Suggestions? Thanks.

Easy solution.
Simply crack the coin out of the slab.
You will be able to see and ENJOY the coin without looking through scratches.

Had my usual giggle! I know you just don't like slobs!
Actually, albums for slobs are available from the U.S.

tpg22: Try toothpaste. I have seen the use of this reported with some success.
I just hope the peppermint does not make those slabs of yours more tasty than peppermint creme after dinner mints! (I don't collect those, they degrade too quickly, unless they are in airtites!)

Thank you for the idea. I was trying to think of an abrasive that was not too strong. I have some knock around MS65 Walkers to handle but the 67+ needs to stay where it is. Protected from little ones fingers. Just trying to save a piece of history.

TPG use the tooth paste and make sure that it stays moist with water. If it gets too dry it will make the plastic dull. It takes practice to get small scratches out.

I've head people say good things about using PlastX. It's founded in the automotive section of stores, even Walmart I believe, for buffing out small scratches on your car.

I've tried it... with limited success.

I would like to thank everyone for their help. This question/post started me out here. I needed an answer and I got it. Now in less then a month I have almost 80 posts and enjoy the knowledge everyone shares. The Plastix works well on scratches. Doesn't take them all out but it did remove the scuf marks.
