Copies and replicas are no longer allowed on ebay. How can this not be considered a copy?

What I don't get is why does NGC bother to encapsulate this stuff?

It has 2009 clearly stamped on the reverse above the eagle. While I wouldn't personally purchase this item, I don't see how one would consider it a copy. It's basically a bullion proof round, for some reason but in plastic by NGC.

Yep, simple gold round. Regardless of the sellers listing title, the slab clearly states 2009 and it is clearly stamped on the reverse. It's getting bid up because people can't read and they see an NGC slab. And we all know that NGC is SOOOOOOOOOOO good that anything they slab is a great coin.

I do question how the seller listed this though. Not the most up front of descriptions. I will not be buying from him.

You can't sell a replica on ebay any more that has the word COPY clearly stamped on it. Why should you be able to sell this one?

I believe it gets by because it is gold bullion. Silver bullion rounds have the Morgan design on it in some cases. I have also seen copper rounds that were Morgans. Between that and NGC certifying it, it slides by. Thats my theory anyway.

I'm on the fence with this one. To me, and that's through my eyes, I don't see a big problem unless it wasn't gold. Yes, I do think some of his 'buzz words' along with his description enhancement could be misleading to some and should be addressed. We also know there is a huge populous on ebay who are willing to over pay for silver and gold. Let them eat cake. Then we can also say why have a policy and not enforce it. Either adjust the rules or enforce the ones you have.

I have a hard time justifying paying 100, 200, 500 dollars over spot just because it's a Krugerrand, Maple Leaf or other bullion item. There are a slew of people who are willing to pay these amounts. In the future, when I decide to liquidate or start selling off pieces, those are the people I'll seek out.

A rhetorical question:
At what point do bullion coins go from bullion value to numismatic premium value? In most cases, from day 1.

My rambled opinion.
