I had a great day finding coins. This is by far one of the neatest and most unusual IHC I have ever owned. It has the nicest tone but it was hard for me to capture it's true image with the camera. There is one spot in the headdress that distracts from the beauty of the coin. What do you think she'd grade at and would PCGS be a good idea to up value or would they poo-poo it because of the blemish on the obverse? As always, thanks for your time and help.

It looks like a decent MS63RB coin but I think PCGS would give you a "genuine holder" for the environmental problem on the head dress. Think I would save the money on submitting it.

IndianGoldEagle,

That's what I was afriad of. Oh well, at least I'm into the coin for practically nothing which makes it a win-win.

I think the coin will grade and most likely MS-63 RB at best. Not much to complain about when you got the coin for next to nothing.

with MS 63
Great coin. I wouldn't know if it would slab or not
(nor would I care) but certainly others would.

Yeah.. another vote for MS-63RB, the spot on the headdress doesn't distract from it that much, great looking Indian.

Spotting on uncirculated copper can really hurt the grade. Between the spots, the dark area on the headdress, and the overall blotchy red-brown color I'd "market-grade" this one as MS-60RB. Definitely not worth having graded. The natural home for this cent is in an album where it will look just fine as a raw Unc.

I have seen other coins that weren't holdered as problem free for smaller spots so I am going to say PCGS would put it in a Genuine holder. It is a nice coin either way but I am guessing that is a carbon spot and they always frown when these type of spots are on the coin, even on silver
