Picked this up at a coin show today (breaking my oath with myself to save for my 1877 or bust) but I couldn't resist. My old 1874 is so ugly.
It was sold as a fine coin but I think it may go VF, got it for $30.
Grades and Comments?

Looking at this post I gotta say: My pic is not good. This coin is not pink, it's a nice natural brown color.
It has original surfaces. The reverse is clean and nice also.

I think its a nice coin but there is too much wear to give it a VF, but I think it is more likely F-12, maybe F 15

It's probably a F-15. The headband is broken, but the letters are quite bold for a fine, so I go F-15. It could bring VF money though, so I think you did quite well for $30.

I think it's on the border of F15/VF20

I bet you have incandescent lighting. I used to get that pinkish look until I went to the cfl bulbs. Nice coin and if you like it that's all that matters.

It's just the lighting in the hood above my range.
Not exactly high tech
The camera is decent, a nikon 35mm digital, but my technique needs work.
Thanks for the look guys, objectively I know it's f15,
In my mind it's VF all the way
