Good Day all, Was looking for a specific set yesterday and found one. 2010 Canada set containing the magnetic 1 cent. Just to be sure I was going to purchase the right set I asked the seller to validate the penny was magnetic. The answer I get is "yes it does". What he fails to tell me is that he just jacked the price up from 35 to 90 dollars and changed the description to include "Rare Magnetic Penny" I dont know about all of you but I would have warned the guy to buy one quickly because I will be taking down listing and revising price. Just curious what others opinions are on ebay etiquette!

ebay has no rules. except....Snipers rule. Any additional information you provide to a seller - tells him/her there is an interested party that will 'bit it higher'. Sorry for your luck - be it all bad.

Oh I found the sets lower so I have no intention of paying higher than the original 35 dollars. It was more his curt response and quick raise of price. Guarantee noone will buy those sets at 90 dollars. Anyone need to know where to get them cheaper I can tell you.

That's just mean-spirited & the seller should get an earful.

That sucks. In hindsight you should've purchased it as he represented it was magnetic. Upon receipt if it wasn't you return it as a SNAD.

wow I have personally never seen that. That's just bad customer service and I would never purchase anything from him ever.

That is terrible. It would be one thing to end the listing to make changes to the description, but to relist it at 3x the original price is bad business. I have never made a purchase from angus_coin_shop and probably never will after hearing this.

It would serve the jerk right if it doesn't sell at all now.

I saw a seller that has 4 for $35 each. I searched for "2010 proof like" in Canadian coins.

Midross, I know nothing about the etiquette about the seller you refer to, because I've never dealt with him/her/them, nor am I "up" on many of the items for sale, but I am not surprised at JeyRey2000's experience based on the fact the colored Birds of Canada are horrendously overpriced, including the two grosbeaks which are (technically) still available from the Mint!

It's hard to pick a cherry if you alert the seller as to what he has before you buy it.
