I finally wore down the seller (or did (s)he wear me down?) on haggling for this 1936 Oregon Trail Commemorative Half and wanted to see what the CCF has to say about in comparison to PCGS. It's not the rarest of the series nor the most plentiful, but I like the design! Thanks for your comments!

I love that design. It hurt to see 2 1926 ones turned into domed buttons at an antique shop here in Oregon. 2 for $20 is not bad, but it hurts :(

They are truly beautiful coins, I have a 1936 s in my 7070. Yours looks to be MS 64 to 65.

My wife says she wants it. That doesn't happen, often. Purdy.

Lovely coin ... my personal favorite from the classic silver set. Photos are a bit dark in spots ... and understanding the challenge of grading coins by photos ... my views follow: Start with genuine and MS ... that should be obvious. Assume the visible obverse scratches (I see two) are on the holder ... most notable visually is the scratch from the Indian chief from his right shoulder through the elbow down to his leg. I see numerous minor bag hits on both the obverse and reverse ... some in major focal areas which will reduce the technical grade .. Look for example at the obverse Chief right hand where he clasps the bow ... bang. On the reverse look at the 7th sun ray (directly above the Conestoga wagon) ... bang there as well. You can find other bag hits if you look closely. The open fields are lovely clean and in summary this coin is a very well preserved example of a great USA coinage issue. I'm going PCGS MS64 as my guess/evaluation. Excellent addition to anyone's collection ... thanks for sharing. David
