Dansco's site says that the updated/continued 8166 album will be out before the end of the year.
I asked a few questions myself when I registered to be notified of the release. Will share any answers upon receipt.
Do any of you all know anything about the up coming album(s)?
Thanks.

I wasn't even aware Dansco had an official site. I was under the assumption that they didn't deal directly to the public.

Thats actually not their official sight, I thought the same thing too at first. They really dont deal directly to the public. If you contact them directly in LA the only thing you can get from them are slides for albums for 5 dollars if some were lost or damaged.

So that's some wholesaler? They have great prices...
What do they mean then about new products? Do they know anything for certain?

Im not sure if its their wholesaler or just someone that got that web address. Their prices usually are better than anywhere else and they ship fast too.
My guess would be that they do get information from Dansco considering the amount of product they buy from them and they pass the information on. If they say a new product is coming Id be confident its coming but until its there anything they say isn't set in stone

Well either way, I'm holding out until the new books are announced. I want to move my JFKs into an 8166 and add proofs... But if they're updating the album, I'm going to wait for the latest and greatest

I dont blame you, I wouldnt want to move them more than I had too. For your sake I hope they update it fast and dont give it the 7070 treatment.

From the front page of http://www.danscoalbumstore.com:" We are not The Dansco Corporation. Dansco Coin Supplies are always on sale here! Dansco Album Store is owned and operated by US Modern Coins, Inc a sister company to Ray Komka Coins, Inc. "

I try to understand why it takes them so long to put a product out. There has to be some balance between trying to please the majority of collectors and the U.S. mint that seems to change coins every year. I too have been waiting for a update for the 8166. I put a 7166 together a couple years ago. Then last year I picked up a used 8166, I think it only went to 2007. After getting it about 90% full I decided to order the next page. It only goes to 20012 D (I think). I wonder what Dansco will do. The album is 8 pages now and getting heavy. So I guess we wait and see. Then there is the Sacagawea dollar with proof only, mine ends at 2011 ... and the next page is not available yet. Also the Silver Eagle album (without proofs) mine ends at 2012. I do wish Dansco would at least let us know what is really going on ... and what we can expect .. and when.

I guess if you've got the market cornered, you do what you want; when you want.
