After stumbling across a 1/2 roll of BU Morgan dollars from 1884 and the New Orleans mint, I had the bug in my ear (or rear as my wife says), to finish the roll. Thanks to a fellow forum member I was able to get within three coins of having a completed roll. I searched high and low and finally stopped by my favorite Coin Shop. They usually have what I want and are reasonably priced. They had the last three coins needed to finish this roll of Morgans. The only downside was I had to bust the last three coins from their coffins. I do know that three of these coins are MS-63 but do not really care, it was fun setting them free.. <<-- JustCarl's reaction...

Now without further ado I will show you what I have been working on. Unable to scan the reverse at this time as I am just about ready to leave and eat some turkey at the in-laws so figured the Obverse would suffice for now.

The second coin in from the top row was on the end of the roll with the obverse facing out, the reverse is magnificent with tons of luster on all the coins but the scan does not show that...

This made me laugh because I never thought of collecting a roll of something. I have bought rolls but never ever thought of collecting a roll of coins. It makes for an interesting challenge.

Anyway, yea! you did it! Enjoy!

Nice.

Now, let's have some relatively-easy fun with these. Look under the second 8 on the obverses for a dash. If you find any, check the reverse for what will look like heavy clashing - you'll also see the characteristic clash line on the obverse at the cheek-neck intersection. The date will be on the "far" end of the scale, 3 full denticles. If you find one like this, get back to me.

My next challenge will be a roll of "CC" Morgans. Have not decided on the year yet but all must be BU. I know some years are tough monetarily wise so will have to pick and choose.
I want to set my final goal of a roll of 1921 Peace dollars which will take some time but I am having some fun doing this and a roll of "CC" MM or Key Dates may come in handy
someday.

I'm still thinking about this....but what to choose....

I think I would not be able to release any confined coins...so that would be a problem. I expect I'll keep this idea in mind though. It does sound like fun especially a roll of CC's.

Good luck on your next project(s).

Meh. No fun, then.

That's the hallmark of the only really interesting 1884-P variety.

Why must you complicate my life this way?

Well, 1888-O is dominated by the Scarface and Hotlips varieties, both obverse and if you saw either, you'd know it instantly.
