These coins attract non collectors as well for their historical significance.. When I told my brother and cousin, they immediately wanted one $10 HS for each family member. They aren't buying it for an investment, but more for the historical aspect, as well as the natural allure of gold!
BiBo, everything I do is for my kids. 12k would be nothing if I could afford it. Can you imagine if your child got one of these 12k set, what it would be like for them 20-30 years down the road.
Right on! Who doesn't like gold? Who doesn't like money? Better still, who doesn't like gold money? These are cool coins for collectors as well as history buffs. Whether they go up or down in value, I think most that got coins are happy with their purchase.
There's a very good 12 minute video on these coins on another related site. It involves a Canadian dealer who worked with RCM on these and the president of a TPG co. Not sure the mods would let me post a link...so I didn't.
Search the other biggest coin website in the US. Right now it is on page one of the thread that mentions these coins in the title. Sorry, I'm unclear of the rules here regarding posting competitors names.
