I wished I have the money like some of you to buy more than 1.

Using the Bank of Canada Inflation Calculator the $5 coin today would be $100.16, but we all know that since 1978 the inflation stats have been tampered with.

Hey All, just joined the CCF after following this thread for awhile.
Does anyone know what the 1914 $10 Hand-Selected Gold Coin comes with, clam shell, encapsulated etc? I ended up ordering one a few days ago after spending sleepless nights debating :). I hesitated on the $5 pieces and didn't want to miss the boat, great keep sake. 2nd post =)

peanut905 I believe that the hand selected coins come in a plastic capsule in a black clamshell case. The premium ones come in a wood case. I think you will be happy with your purchase. I hesitated on my purchase as well but I ended up buying the set of 3 $5 hand selected coins. I hope they are as awesome as I have them made out to be in my mind.

Hey peanut905 If you check out the picture in this link, you can see the coin in the capsule in the black case as I described. http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...pic.asp?pic=http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/323/gold1914.jpg Sorry I can't get this link to paste properly. Hopefully you can copy and paste into a browser window.

Here's the picture I was referring to in my previous post in case the link doesn't work. The coin in capsule and case is in the upper left corner.

^^^^ Those are the $10 gold coins. They look nice and shiny and never circulated. I hope I get one like them. They are bigger than the $5 coins and are the size of a loony.

Here is a great question... Assuming the premium select are high MS Grades, which is the better buy, the Hand select or premium select? Please answer this as a two part question. One answer for the $5 series and one for the $10 sereies.
