@panda,
Asking price is too high but I'm more concerned with the selling tactics

Nice guys don't feed you trash to make sales. I've been there many times but have only bought one coin from him. He's full of it.

Sorry not to make myself clear, I was only commenting on his prices which I do find high.

Looks like the 1913 & 1914 $10 have lost momentum (or too many on sale). They are still available. Overpriced?

I am hoping that the 1914 $10 lasts for awhile. I would like to get one in the new year to match my $5. I am waiting to see the posts once people start receiving them.

It will definitely be interesting to see what happens when the first of the coins arrive in buyers hands.

Maybe there will be a a run on the remaining $10 at the RCM, or maybe they won't be able to sell them at all. All depends on the grade of the coins that get shipped.

I'm sure others have noticed that the 8 Premium HS coins that C/A posted on their site a couple of weeks ago are still all there unsold too...

Any fellow members know if the coins are on display or sale at the RCM Ottawa Boutique?

the Mint is now doing a "free 1812 book for purchase over 300$" promotion, the book sells for about 15$ at Amazon.ca. I just tried it online and it works with any 300$ order, not just Christmas coin. I am considering calling in tomorrow to cancel my 1914 10$ coin and place another order to get the free book...

That's great info shopaholic. Let us know if that works, and that if they can add that promo book to your order, or if you have to cancel and redo. I would think since the coin has not shipped out, and nothing has been billed to your credit card, that they can add this book to your existing order without canceling.

I just purchased that book last week on Amazon. It is a good complement to the rest of the 1812 collection. A brief overview of the war from four perspectives that is nicely illustrated.

@coinplus: I called the Mint and they said the promotion is for new order only, and cannot add it to my existing order. So I cancelled my order and placed a new one.

Wonder how long they are running that promotion? I'm not really all that interested in the book but given the literally thousands of dollars that I've spent this year a little kickback would have been nice.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), I only have three items that haven't shipped and cancelling/reordering won't work. Two are sold out items and the third is the O Canada subscription and it doesn't qualify as over $300.
